3D and Diagnostic Mammograms Now Available at Diley Ridge

Diley Ridge Medical Center is now offering diagnostic and 3D mammograms, an advanced, FDA-approved breast cancer screening especially for women with dense breast tissue.

Also known as tomosynthesis, a 3D mammogram uses a series of x-rays to create a 3D image of the breast that can identify smaller lesions that are harder for a traditional mammogram to detect and can pose a higher risk. The screening only takes about 20 minutes, it doesn’t require a referral and it can take the place of your traditional 2D mammogram. 3D mammography is also covered by Medicare, but not by most insurance plans, so be sure to check your plan for specific coverage details.

Tomosynthesis is another high-tech tool in the battle against breast cancer, and because it’s offered right here at Diley Ridge, you don’t have to leave the community to get it. It’s one more way we’re caring for the community, and for you.
